About the New Salem Congo Church

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in Central Congregational Church is through Baptism and Confession or Reaffirmation of Faith, or a Letter of Transfer. Members are expected to worship God regularly and to make a pledge of time, talent and money toward the work of the church in the parish, local community, and beyond. The Pastor and Deacons oversee the membership process. Membership classes are held on request. The process is not complicated and the rewards of church membership are many!

COMMITTEES

The final, earthly authority for Central Congregational Church is its own members. Between Congregational Meetings, the Church Committee, made up of the officers, representatives of committees, and two at-large members, meets to provide communication and to help coordinate the activities of the various boards and committees. All members and friends are welcome to attend meetings.

Committees are: Deacons, Trustees, Music, Religious Education, Benevolance, Floral, Stewardship, Social/Hospitality, and Nominating.

ADULT STUDY GROUPS

A variety of adult education programs and opportunities are offered throughout the year from Bible study, to Advent and Lenten Soup and Sandwich discussions on spiritual topics, to the screening of The Chosen and more.
