The people of Central Cong. Church are extremely caring toward one another and to those around them.
We support three denominational annual offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing; Neighbors in Need; and the Christmas Fund. We also support Heifer International, Church World Service, the annual CROP Walk, monthly food collections for the Orange Open Pantry – providing more than 2,000 lbs. of food each year – and support of the Community Meals Program.
At Christmas we “adopt” a local family to provide food, clothing and gifts to make the holidays brighter. Our Mitten Tree collects mittens, hats, scarves, socks and coats for children in our local schools.
We also support a variety of local, national and world-wide missions throughout the year – such as: Care Central VNA & Hospice, LifePath, Salvation Army, North Quabbin Citizens Advocacy, Valuing Our Children, United Way of Franklin County, Literacy Volunteers, Orange Gives Back, Village Neighbors, etc.
The “little church on the hill” in New Salem believes in the power of prayer. A extension of that is found in a group of folks who make prayer shawls that are given out to parishioners, family, friends and complete strangers who need to feel God’s presence in their lives in some special way. Since its inception, we have given out more than 200 prayer shawls.
